I would rather have a grand failure than a mediocre success. Go big or go home. And in my profession of local government management, if you haven’t been fired from a high level executive job at least once in your career, you really aren’t trying to bring about change. You are just cashing a check.
Kelly - thank you for the way you write about our common failure to establish the fund. I learned a lot during that period. I did several investments that have become my micro fund. I made distance to all the years in Gabler, meet a lot of very nice and competent people around the country. It was sad that we had to give up the fund, not only because of our failure but also a lot of external factors that we could not have foreseen. I am also so happy that I meet you and the way we Conected. You have become one of my best friends and one that I can share both private and professional concerns. It was a major failure but for me also the start of a new period of entrepreneurship setting up Skuehytten (cottage building company), and Establishing an office for Industrifinance asset management in Western Norway. Thank you Kelly - you inspire me “little brother”
Thank you for sharing Kelly. Very insightful. Too often people only share success stories and not the struggle along the way, which is more interesting to me. Wish you the best with your new ventures!
Tusen takk Kelly , livet som grunder er hardt, hardt, hardt, hardt arbeid, mange feilsteg, mye lærdom og masse gøy. Takk for at du deler, det er mest i lærdom i feilene syntes jeg, ikke suksessene 🙏
Great post man. I understand all your issues and concerns. I was there with our first fund Link One, we just made it, and now we are on our third fund. I really felt that I was going to the dentist every day for the first two years of Fundraising. And I really really hate DENTISTS.

I got a boost of energy from this.
The ultimate compliment. Cheers.
Well described interresting experience, Kelly.

The toughest admission for me to make was the Big Brother comment. THAT took guts. (:
